How Much Do Hearing Aids Cost with Australian Unity Prime Extras Private Health?

Australian Unity Prime Extras lists a hearing aid benefit of 80% up to $1,500, with a 12-month waiting period and a 3-year claiming frequency. Eligible members may be able to use this benefit to reduce the cost of hearing aids, subject to policy rules and available limits.

Because our hearing aids are offered direct to consumer, customers can access more transparent pricing without the same traditional clinic-based cost structure. When combined with a private health rebate, this may help make hearing aids more affordable.

Before buying hearing aids, contact Australian Unity to confirm how much of your hearing aid benefit remains available and what information needs to appear on your invoice for claiming.

Australian Unity Hearing Aid Cover and Rebates

Australian Unity Health Fund Rebates for Hearing Aids

Australian Unity provides extras cover for Australians who want support with health costs that Medicare may not fully cover, including hearing aids in some policies. When comparing hearing aid rebates, the key things to check are the percentage covered, the maximum benefit, the waiting period, and whether the benefit renews after a set number of years.

How to Claim with PocketAid

If you wish to claim a rebate with your private health fund through your extras cover, we require a copy of your hearing test results.

Simply email your hearing test results to [email protected] and we will email you a short form to complete. If you do not have a copy of your hearing test, you can ask the provider to email it to you.

Your results will be checked and confirmed with one of our audiologists.

We recommend you call your health fund first to confirm your level of cover and eligibility for claiming hearing aids, as we cannot do this on your behalf.
