600+ Five Star Reviews
Claiming a private health fund rebate for hearing aids can feel confusing, especially when you are not sure which documents are required or whether your hearing test has the right information.
That is why PocketAid has introduced the Health Fund Express Portal: a simple online process designed to help customers prepare the supporting documentation they may need when submitting a manual claim to their private health fund.
Many Australian private health funds provide benefits for hearing aids under selected extras cover. However, each fund has its own rules, benefit limits, waiting periods, and documentation requirements.
The PocketAid Health Fund Express Portal helps customers take the first practical step by submitting their hearing test, also known as an audiogram, for review.
To begin, customers upload a copy of their full audiogram through the portal. The audiogram must be a complete hearing test, not a screening result, and must have been completed within the last 5 years.
Once received, PocketAid’s audiologist reviews the audiogram to confirm whether the documentation supports hearing aid amplification through PocketAid.
Step 1
Send us a copy of your hearing test (audiogram) using the form below. Please note that It must be a full hearing test, and have been conducted within the last 5 years.
Our audiologist reviews your full audiogram to confirm whether the documentation supports hearing aid amplification through PocketAid.
This review is for documentation purposes only. PocketAid does not confirm private health fund eligibility, rebate amounts, or claim approval. You should check directly with your own private health fund before proceeding.
Step 2
If your audiogram indicates you will receive benefits via hearing aid amplification, you will receive a link to complete a short questionnaire.
The questionnaire collects information that private health funds may require as part of a hearing aid claim submission.
It also records your acknowledgement that the information provided is accurate and that you understand the documentation process.
Step 3
Once approved, purchase your PocketAid hearing aid, and we’ll provide you with a receipt which can be used when submitting a manual claim to your private health fund.
Once your audiogram documentation has been reviewed, you can choose the PocketAid hearing aid you would like to purchase.
After purchase, PocketAid will provide a receipt and supporting documentation that you can submit directly to your private health fund.
If you wish to claim a rebate with your private health fund through your extras cover, we require a copy of your hearing test results. Your results will be checked and confirmed with one of our audiologists.
Simply email your hearing test to [email protected] or use our Health Fund Documentation Portal. Our health fund documentation portal simplifies the process of compiling the necessary documentation for customers who would like to apply for a rebate through their health fund.
Most health funds allow between $600-$1200 total rebate cover for hearing aids. We recommend you call your health fund first to confirm your level of cover and eligibility for claiming hearing aids, as we cannot do this on your behalf.
Following your purchase of a PocketAid hearing aid or pair of hearing aids, we will provide you with a receipt and provider number for claiming.

The Health Fund Express Portal does not replace checking directly with your health fund. Customers should always confirm their own level of cover, eligibility, waiting periods, annual limits, and claim requirements before purchasing hearing aids.
However, the portal is designed to make the documentation side of the process clearer and easier to follow.
For customers who are eligible, private health fund rebates may significantly reduce the out-of-pocket cost of purchasing PocketAid hearing aids. You can also learn more about hearing aids cost through private health and how rebates may affect your final out-of-pocket expense.
PocketAid provides medical grade hearing aids through a direct-to-consumer model, helping Australians access high-quality hearing aid technology at a fraction of the cost often associated with traditional clinic hearing aids.
The Health Fund Express Portal is another way PocketAid is helping customers make informed decisions about their hearing and understand the practical steps involved in purchasing hearing aids.
Customers who already have a full audiogram can begin by visiting the PocketAid Health Fund Express Portal and uploading their hearing test.
